Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) is an American performer, actor, and dancer. Her career began with Broadway career performing in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. She was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside famous directors and actors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's upcoming project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford, who will appear opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. She was in two seasons of cult CBS comedy B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin, Hector Elizondo, as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. The role she played as Essie in You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway credits. Ashford is from the city of Denver resident who splits his time between Los Angeles.
